| Adams Peak is one the most sacred mountains in the world. Buddhists believe the footprint on the summit is that of Buddha; Hindus hold it to be the mark of Shiva; Muslims are convinced it is that of Adam; and some Christians believe the indentations were caused by St.Thomas. This tea is especially rare as only the best fresh shoots are selected. They are then withered, sun dried and hand rolled- amounting to just 30 kg being produced each week. An Adam's Peak infusion makes for a delicate, light copper colour tea with a taste of pine and honey. This particular tea has been found to be very high in polyphenols (tea's antioxidants). |
