Golden Monkey is also known as King of Panyong Congou. After a labour intensive production process, this tea is hand-sorted to ensure a beautiful leaf appearance. The leaves should be curly and well twisted with a high percentage of 'tip' evident. "Tippy" tea refers to the tip of the new shoots which turn a golden brown during the manufacturing process. This is indicative of exceptional quality and highly selective grading. It is only available in the first few weeks of the new season which makes for a flavourful and rare cup of tea sought after by connoisseurs. |
